Today I spent my first day as a Junior Outsider at the 49ers training camp. My dad, the Senior Outsider, the grizzled veteran, told me to keep my eyes peeled.

This is what I saw – Vernon Davis caught about 19 of 20 balls on the sideline using only his right hand. A coach, I’m not sure which one, took turns throwing balls over Davis’ right shoulder and across his body. Each toss Davis snatched easily with his right hand, except for one drop.

The weakest part of Davis’ game is his hands. From my perspective, they have improved.

Well, at least one of them has.
