By now you know the Niners added Nate Davis to their practice squad. Good for them and good for Davis. He obviously needs more work and the 49ers showed, in good faith, they continue their commitment to developing him.

You also know the 31 other teams refused to pick him up and that’s why he became available again to the 49ers. This does not speak well for Davis. And remember many Niner fans thought Davis was the secret weapon who would be the Niner quarterback.

Other teams noticed, I’m sure, Davis has trouble picking up the 49er system, couldn’t do it in a year and a half. They must have thought, with reason, he would have difficulty starting all over with another system. Teams must have decided they didn’t have a spare year and a half to devote to a third-string QB. So for practical reasons, they passed on Davis. This tells you what the league thinks of Davis and it should be a form of reality testing for you.

The Niner practice squad is a good place for David to learn his craft.
