Here is my Monday column about the Giants winning the National League West and the giant Giants celebration that took place on the field and in the clubhouse afterward.
I use many of the Brian Wilson quotes I used in an earlier post and put a 400-word topper on them. Wilson is highly articulate and observant, a writer’s dream. I also make an admission about my wrong judgement on Jonathan Sanchez. To read the column and my humble admission click here.

Thank you, Lowell, for your admission that trading J. Sanchez would have been stupid. I think more of you for it.

Good stuff! I hope that if you see Sabean in the coming days you remember to run your idea about releasing Zito in the offseason by him.

You might not have been wrong as far as trading him-who the Giants get in return makes anybody tradeable. If they had gotten Adam Dunn, they might have won more of those 1-0 or 2-1 losses and won the west sooner-or not. But,great pitching wins games more than great hitting wins out again. And,Sanchez now proves with his no-no and down the stretch pitching he handles REAL pressure better than he does a bad umps calls. A dichotomy sure, but a real difference.

It has been approx. 2500 days since the Giants last one the NL West…this year has been a great ride.
Now come the playoffs…they will be well-rested, at home, and their rotation will be set. The season has already been a success, but they are lined up to take it even further.
