Tim Lincecum was simply superb tonight. I did not think he had enough left in the tank to pitch like that. But he sure did. He out-pitched Cliff Lee, not easy to do. And he brought the World Series championship to San Francisco — something Juan Marichal and Gaylord Perry among others could not do.

The Giants have a fabulous core of starting pitchers going into next season, three in particular — Lincecum, Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner. Jonathan Sanchez is a worthy fourth starter.
