Comcast’s Matt Maiocco interviewed Mike Singletary at the Senior Bowl and came away with some fascinating insights from the former 49ers coach. I was most interested by Singletary’s admission he and Trent Baalke did not get along. I had heard rumors but no confirmation.

Guys not getting along is not unusual. Singletary is stubborn and he was a bad coach and Baalke must have noticed and judged him for that. Still, I try to look at this another way simply to have a balanced perspective. Baalke was not the general manager. He was head of personnel, whatever that meant. As far a I could tell he had a subservient position to Singletary. It was Baalke’s job to get along. I could be wrong about this but I’m putting it out there.

None of that matters anymore because Singletary is gone. But Baalke must get along with Jim Harbaugh. So much depends upon it. To read Matt’s article click here.
