I am in a February slump. I admit that, sadly.

Usually I post on the Zohn several times a day. Something happens and I rush downstairs to my office and start typing like mad. My wife says she can be in the middle of a conversation with me and all of a sudden I’m gone. “The blog?” I hear her mutter as if I’m having a rendezvous with a mistress.

Which is to say I’m nuts in love with blogging but in February I often don’t have a clue. I mean, February is a slow month for sports. Like today. I could write something about the Warriors yet again or Alex Smith yet again — nothing against the Warriros who are doing surprisingly well for them and nothing against Alex Smithy except the usual, but I don’t feel like writing about them today. Maybe I will tomorrow.

In an hour I’m going to see the movie Cedar Rapids which my wife said got a good review in the New Yorker. And I’m going to start reading Saul Bellow’s “Herzog,” a book I’ve never been able to finish. But I’m into Bellow these day.

I go spring training in two weeks and I will try to be brilliant or at least good down there and until then I’ll limp througth. Please bear with me.
