Here is the opening to my Monday column I wrote after attending the A’s 2-0 loss to the Bronx Bombers on Sunday. In the column I suggest the A’s are onto something unique and fascinating.

OAKLAND — The exciting moment for the A’s on Sunday came in the bottom of the seventh with the A’s trailing the Yankees 2-0. They had runners on first and third with one out — Coco Crisp had led off with a single and dramatically stole second and third — and now Kila Ka’aihue was up.

Surely, Ka’aihue, an alleged power hitter, could do real damage. And he did just that — real damage. He struck out swinging.

I might be wrong..but the Mendoza line is .218. The A’s WISH they were at that level.
It’s more PROOF…and say that in a physics way that Beane is a loser.
And we saw why Beane, Lowell, never did take that GM at Boston job. The Yankees would always be the opponent that mediocre Beane man would never beat. In Oakland he could indulge in the fantasy that he had created a system….a system that no matter how much he lost on the field…he won in his bank account. And yet, in fictitious movies he was a winner.
Get out of the game Beane…your a disgrace to the concept of sports.

Reminds me of the pitch-drunk Sabean who never saw a power hitter he liked. Beltran is leading the NL in homers and RBI’s yet they let him go because he did not help the pathetic lineup to score more runs at the end of the season while he was nursing an injury.

Oh yeah..Jeff Keppinger (currently has a broken toe and is out 2 weeks)…is playing for 29/16 Tampa Bay Rays and batting .295. Another guy the Giants let go.

According to the Baseball Almanac the lowest American League team batting average for a single season was .212 by Chicago in the 1910 Season.

With Manny coming up we could be looking at a new record in Oakland.

You know that post I made of Heavy D’s last tweet being called his “last words”? .In other words, times have changed.

Well,I checked on the Mendoza line..and I was wrong. BUT,it reminded me of my getting older because I STILL forget that their is Google,Wiki, etc…and I know I have posted questions that 30 seconds of typing ( my speed) and I would found the answer.
Times HAVE changed. And seemingly too fast.

Another follow up of a post…that article about famous last words? I must have reads hundreds of historical people’s last words Lowell…and even though many saw lights, asked questions to something only they saw..or said it’s beautiful…NOT one-even the worst genocidal killers..said they see Hell or feel fire or offered any more resistance then to say “Why now?”.. I would bet my money on their is no Hell.
    I hope.
