One other possibility : Harbaugh’s guilt that he wanted Manning and Peyton just didn’t like Harbaugh. If that’s true..you think Harbaugh isn’t doing his best to convince himself he didn’t blow it?..”Well,I never wanted him..”..a.spurned coach!

Harbaugh is not human. He is a football coach. The two are not related. A completely strange being. But he wins. If he starts to lose, no one will have it worse than him. Nobody.

Actions Gentlemen…Actions speak the truth…

The 49ers knew EXACTLY how much money it would take to land Manning…they know his agent very well…

The 49ers evaluated the risks to “Team Chemistry”, alex smith’s fragile psyche and all the rest of the blunderbuss…

Then they got on the plane.

They took several days away from their families and VERY busy schedules and flew to DURHAM freakin’ North Carolina…

Take it from a man who flies to the East Coast 10 times a year…it sux…you only do it if you have to…

The rest is all words twisted by a Coach who seems to actually believe whatever version of “truth” he spews today…

My take is the 49ers didn’t want to sign Manning at his price. From what I’m deciphering from Harbaugh’s words, the 49ers wanted Manning if he decided to play for less guaranteed money. Manning decided to sign with the Broncos who likely offered more money.

Of course, I have never seen how much the 49ers were offering Manning. Has anyone?

Well Dennis sometimes they even speak with that same cadence..alter Trent’s voice to a little less gravely..add gravel to Jim’s..they are one voice. Spooky.
And Brady..you don’t know what the 49ers did(you sound like Mark Purdy on Comcast)..they could have made an offer. We do know Peyton turned the 49ers down. I mean Payton says he had made a choice between THREE teams and said the 49ers were on of them. That sort of puts to lie Jim’s wild assertion,his claim,his bogus argument that the 49ers didn’t want to sign him.

It does not matter to me why Harbaugh brought this up. Obviously he thought he had to, probably for team reasons. What I care about is that the team is in good hands and going in the right direction. This stuff about the other day is all noise. I would much rather focus on something like what’s gotten into Randy Moss or Brandon Jacobs. Is there something in the water there? If so, let me drink it. Lowell, you’re a great sportswriter but you have to chill about Harbaugh.

I do not think they ever were really serous about PM. They new that it would cripple our team now and in the future. JH new that AS was not going any where and had no other options.

If they signed PM. JH would of surely looked really bad when they run up the gut 3 times in a row. Or when our WR drops a sure touchdown on a fade pass in the end zone.

Or when it is a fullback pass instead of a crossing route.

What about when PM tells JH to go for it on every 4th down. What if we are very similar in stats this year as last year, is he going to keep the teams model or go all Diva on us.

This was just a smart PR move and nothing else. You do know that PM would of rather played for SF than Denver.

But look out for AS. Beside JH always stated that he would put the best players on the field. No exception.
