I saw TO as an immature man-boy.

His outbursts, his self-centeredness, all were indications of a very young and immature mind.

I could see that he had a big heart and just wanted to be loved, but didn't know how to handle the world that was in front of him.

I actually feel sorry for him. Somewhat like Mike Tyson. A young mind in a man's body.

Too naive to fend off the vultures.

TO likely suffers from mental illness. He had a very tragic and traumatic childhood from which (what I can figure out) he never sought / received any counseling that might have helped him out. The previous suicide attempt bodes badly for how this ends.

Whatever thin life-line that being a successful athlete afforded him is gone. In the series "The Wire" a peer drug counselor observed that no-one "gets their act together until they see the bottom coming up at them."

For all of his obnoxious behavior (particularly towards Jeff Garcia), I sense there is something deeply good but horribly mangled inside of TO. I hope for his sake that he possesses the basic survival skills to save himself.

Any teenager who is told to not date a girl because she is your sister (lived across the street from her his entire life) by a man who also tells him that he is TOs father is bound to have issues; TO is responsible for his own mistakes, but there are reasons why he acts the ways he does. He had a very tough childhood and I don't think he ever learned what real love is (even though his Grandma tried to raise him). A lot of people have had rough childhoods and gotten through...but some haven't.

He can still play at the NFL level but no one is going to give him a chance until November when some team will be desperate to replace an injured star receiver. Being a jerk to kids bothers me though; no need for that.

(Catch that nifty semi-colon in the last sentence Lowell? ;- ))

TO = unbalanced.... he has had some mental issues a few times in the past, kind of reminds me of the road Seau was headed on after his car wreck minus the money problems.

I can't beleive I'm saying this, but the NFL and professional sports in general need to help these guys. I don't particular like TO, ( but I feel like they need to be protected from themselves, alot of former athletes don't have the tools to do even that). Part of me thinks it's sad, the other part want's to tell them to wake up, and stop making Idiotic decsions.

T.O. needs to be on a plane to Bristol, CT right now.

He can bring coffee to the talking heads for 3 months all the while begging for an analysts gig come September.

He lost all his money in an investment scam and this doesn't look like it's going to end well...

I think the worst TO story..not sure if its true,BUT he had a mansion in Dallas among other homes he had..and just stopped paying for it. He made no effort to sell it. Something about he just ignores bills.
He is another who falls into a fool and his money are soon parted.
And that he ignores his kids..he's getting what he deserves.

One last...T.O. is another Peter Pan..he thought he would play forever and the checks would never end. And that's the absolute truth.
