Now I’ll tell you my theory about the old man.
When I walk on the set — wearing makeup no less — I am Lowell, the Lowell I’ve known all my life. I’m talkative and friendly and youthful, most of all I’m youthful. Sometimes, at night I channel surf and see the rebroadcast of the show. Everyone looks the same except for me. In the time since I left, someone substituted an old guy for me. There is the old guy sitting in my chair talking about sports. I don’t know how they put that old guy there or why they do it. Who is that old guy?

Look at Purdy or Ratto lately? Not a glamorous business this sports talk stuff, and thank God for that. Just keep it real. If we start getting politicians, cheerleaders and game show hosts subbing for you, I know we’ll all be completely hosed at that point.

I guess this is the best spot to ask a media question..Whats your thoughts Lowell on the A’s dumping Ray Fosse?..he was Mr. Oakland A’s to many fans.

Stan, They didn’t dump Fosse. They are using Scott Hatteberg in his place for 20 games. i really don’t know what to think of this other than to say Fosse is a good analyst.
