Here is the opening to my column about the Warriors’ praiseworthy draft:

OAKLAND

The Warriors had a very good draft without actually having a hell of a draft.

Let’s put it another way. This was rookie general manager Bob Myers’ first draft — along with plenty of help from his friends. Would Myers put his unique stamp on this draft, kaboom — a three-team trade bringing an unbelievable talent to the Warriors?

No.

But maybe the expectation was misplaced, although the Warriors entertained seven potential deals. The Warriors certainly made no mistakes in the draft, which, from their point of view, was good, promising, reasonable and praiseworthy.
