I love a day like this. Right now, I’m at the A’s day game with the Rangers. It starts at 12:35 and it’s a big deal for the A’s. I’ll watch the game and then write my column. After that, I jump in my car and drive to SF over to Comcast where I’m on the Blitz roughly 8:00 pm — an hour after the Giants game. I love an active day, a day that feels like a month because it’s so busy, a day I know I’m really alive and being alive is exciting.

And drop in “Hey Stan”. I already got my name used in a Giants commercial..and KNBR 2-3 times has brought me up..OK,So it was in rants about the blog people they hate. What the hell? any pub is good pub as Barnum and Ringling would say!

KauaiRobert, Is it good that you’re not busy?

Well, I’m at work and days tend to drag when I’m not busy–like today.
.
I watch the clock way too much for my own good.
.
11:14…11:15…sigh…

KauaiRobert, Forgive me for this, but I always pictured you retired, sitting on the beach with a Dos Equis reading and writing.

No such luck sir.
.
It’s a low-paying, 9-5ish, dead-end job for another 20 years or so.
.
Then it’s home, vodka, T.V.
.
I’m getting depressed now…:(

Baseball can be a beautiful game wherever it is played.
22,000 people, lots of them kids from day camp. Probably half of the crowd sitting in the $2 BART seats. Each right fielder gives a heroic effort but fails to catch a double by the opposing right fielder. Each double drives in 2 runs. An unknown shortstop, hitting well under my id, hits a walk off first major league home run.
Next $2 BART day game is Wednesday Aug 1st vs Tampa Bay. The Coliseum may be a crummy place to watch a ballgame, but it couldn’t spoil a beautiful day today.

There is nothing better than the finish to a truly busy day. Your day sounds like a day to be envied Mr Cohn.

Thanks, Jack Hammer. I’m posting this at almost midnight — I just got home from Comcast. Grant was exhausted but he waited up to say good night. I love my son.

The “Where’s Lowell” game sucks. It’s even less interesting than “Where’s Waldo?”. We don’t even get to have fun guessing, he just flat out tells us.

OK, Lo Sbandato, I go on vacation starting Sunday. Next Wednesday my wife and I drive somewhere. It’s north. We’ll stay four nights. Where are we going?

I’ll guess Oregon and you are going wine tasting near McMinnville.

lameduck, It is Oregon and there will be wine tasting. But we’re going to Ashland to see plays and eat at nice restaurants and, while Mrs. Cohn Zohn is shopping, I’ll wine taste in the Rogue Valley.
