So, Grant and I woke up this morning at 7:00 am Central Time, 5:00 Pacific. We left our hotel in Appleton, Wis and drove three and a half hours to Midway Airport in Chicago where we hopped on a plane for Oakland. We picked up our car and Grant dropped me off on Hegenberger Road where I walked into the Coliseum for the Raiders home opener. I am sitting in the press box next to Phil Barber. What an exciting day. I hope it’s an exciting game. It’s good to be alive.

    Lowell,

Your dinner description was intriguing, but I’m thrilled that Walker Brother’s Pancake House is still around 35 years since I last went. Goes to show you that great places endure. You’re right – the largest and best apple pancake ever created. I lived in Evanston for 7 years and breakfast at Walker Brothers was ritualistic at least twice a month. Did Ira recommend it? Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for bringing back the memory.

Steve, Ira took me to Walker’s. He said I had to go. I loved it.
