So, just before the first pitch Saturday night I got a text from US Airways that my Tuesday flight home got canceled because of the awful weather back east. Why was I affected? Because my return flight to SFO goes through, get this, Philly where I pick up a nonstop home. Don’t ask me.
Anyway, I instantly got a migraine. Par for my course. I have been trying to get through to US Air to reschedule. Good luck. I was on the line 45 minutes this morning listening to music and a recorded lady who told me 50 times more or less I should fly to “jolly Dublin.” I’m all for Dublin, I just want to go home first.
Then the line went dead. 45 minutes wasted. (Seven years of college down the drain.) It had something to do, I’m told, with Canada being right across the river and cell signals getting all mixed up. It’s true — I’ve had lousy reception here.
So, I’m leaving for the ballpark in a bit but I don’t know when or how I’m leaving for home.

Beautiful bay area weather Lowell mid 70′s no fog. T-shirt weather..summer T shirts..the old thin ones.
Can’t figure why anybody would want to live in Detroit.

Hop on the Giants plane. It is a weather emergency, and I’m sure they will find you a seat. The P-D can spring for it. You deserve it.

I am so sorry. There is nothing worse while traveling then to have plane connections cancelled. Your life is totally disrupted and you feel like you have absolutely no control. Hang in there and enjoy the game. You will get home.

Phili is the biggest hub for US Airways. Many fights coming from the West connect through there (or Charlotte) on their way in and out. They are also a flat out terrible airline from top to bottom — right there with United and American. Bottom feeding flying buses.

Dennis, As Dorothy said, “There’s no place like home.”

One general tip not applicable to the current situation – avoid US Air in the future if possible, it’s a pretty crummy outfit.
Travel safe Lowell.
