I’m still stunned by what a treat we all experienced here in the Bay Area this season. Obviously the Giants winning over shadows this accomplishment, but given the resources Beane had to work with, it’s almost more impressive in the final analysis. November 8th, 2012 5:04 pm Capts Are you trolling Stan, Lowell? November 8th, 2012 7:02 pm mbabco I’m a little surprised that Sabean was 6th. I would have thought higher. November 8th, 2012 7:17 pm Pete The guy’s teams have never won a pennant and he gets so much run. Most overrated GM should be the award. November 8th, 2012 9:43 pm Steve While Beane’s accomplishments deserve much praise, I feel Melvin was the key to the A’s success. I agree with mbabco – considering the key moves Sabean made and the eventual results, I think he was far and away the 2012 Executive of the Year.
