the Kap era has begun……but Alex will get a nice job next season with another team and he can thank Harbaugh and the 49ers conservative “throw a pass only 10 yards ” offense for his high QB rating.

And watching Chronicle live the other night, Stan has been confirmed as verifying that Jim Cozimoore belongs on the creepy bow tie wearing list because there it was around his neck.

Well, Lowell, after years and years of articles to write, you’ll never have to write about Alex Smith again, barring a Kaep injury. What are you gonna do with all the free time? (LOL)

Smith will start somewhere next season. Only chance it is in SF if is Kaep gets injured and Smith/SF win the SB.

Otherwise he’ll demand a trade/release in the offseason. It’s hard to speculate exactly where he’ll end up because the number of coaching changes will change the landscape, but the 2013 QB draft class is pretty weak, so he’ll go somewhere and start.

And I hope he wins every game he plays unless he’s playing the 49ers.

Perhaps I am reading too much between the lines, but what this decision tells me is this:
Alex Smith was the starter, until Colin Kaepernick could prove he was ready to take over and lead the Niners going forward. It has to be that simple, right? Otherwise, a healthy Alex Smith is your starter. Thoughts?
