Happy Holidays to you and your family Tiburon Dave! I wish you all the very best there is in life. I and my family are doing well and thank you for your good wishes.

I agree they loved him in New York. But this deal went sideways and when things go sideways people with the best of intentions can act decidedly different.

Lowell didn't like the cancer analogy so pick something else that describes the situation here. He wasn't happy, he kept ratcheting this fact up and pretty soon someone has to deal with it before all this maliciousness infects the rest of the team.

whether Jacobs can still contribute as a player should be set aside -- he has a legitimate grievance to see his contract honored. why shouldn't a professional competitor want to be practicing that profession, and that's what was behind the statements that got him suspended. the yorkists aren't imposing a corrective measure in the form of a fine, but essentially terminating him without paying their bill.

Happy Holidays Dennis! I hope you and the family are well…

Cancer? Really? They loved him in New York. He just can’t play anymore. For that reason he should have been released weeks ago…why wasn’t he? That’s a question that needs an answer…

By his own words Coach Harbaugh views his profession as war and as such groups us all into FRIENDS and ENEMIES.

I’ve known guys like Coach Harbaugh and they’re all just a little bit nutty…left to their own devices the FRIENDS list gets shorter and the ENEMIES list gets a whole lot longer every day…

So…by virtue of an inoffensive tweet…Jacobs has made the ENEMIES list…ENEMIES need to be punished! I know…suspend him without pay…that’ll show him!!!

Except when Coach Harbaugh was asked about it in public…he had cause for pause and he weaseled out with his ridiculous SELF INCRIMINATION statement…even he knows this is a little nutty…

I submit it won’t be too long before Coach Harbaugh is assembling his command staff in the ward room at 0300 hours so he can interrogate them and find out who had the extra helping of cherry dessert…

The signings of Jacobs and Edwards were "luxury" signings. Moderately priced veterans past their prime. They have a chance to contribute and provide depth, but sign with the understanding that this is the case. If the signing doesn't work out nothing is lost.

Case in point: Edwards just got cut by Seattle after being a non-producer for them. Sometimes veteran players don't know when they don't have it anymore. In Jacobs case, he's always valued himself much higher than his employer.

Edwards and Jacobs were both thought of across the board as 'problem childs' to begin with, poor attitudes with a history of under performing. Any player who has some level of self respect wouldn't let these 2 examples affect their decision. Let's look at what the 'team' has accomlished as a barometer of if FA would like to come and play in SF instead of 2 bad apples, that JH didn't let rot the rest of the barrel.

While I agree somewhat that each executive needs a no nonsense right hand man, I don't think that analogy has anything to do with this situation.

Brandon is not that good of a player anymore, was a one trick pony anyway, was injured for a long time, didn't rehab as agressively as the team would have liked, bitched and moaned about playing time publicly, disregarded the priviledge of being on the NFL team, all of these things are negatives that finally wore thin on the team. It would have bit Harbaugh if he DIDN'T suspend him. This way reinforces the Harbaugh mantra, team, team, team.

Dan, You ask a good question. I wonder if free agents will be inclined to sign with the Niners after they see what happened to Edwards and Jacobs.

This is the second year in a row that an off season veteran pickup is released and or suspended (basically the same thing in this case) during the season.....will this hurt chances of signing free agents going forward?

Tiburon Dave, I completely disagree with your assessment of the situation. This isn't Harbaugh's problem. This is his job. The one thing I know about cancer is if you find it you get rid of it as quickly as possible.
