A’s front man Lew Wolff wants the team to stay in Oakland five more years. Which brings me to something I learned a long time ago. Never listen to what the powerful people say. Look at what they do. Wolff keeps saying he wants the A’s to move to San Jose. He says the team WILL move to San Jose. But the team plays in Oakland and almost surely will continue to play in Oakland the next half decade and probably more than that. Here’s my prediction: the A’s never will move to San Jose. The Giants don’t want it and Major League Baseball has no particular stake in it. Yet again this is a case of Wolff crying wolf.

Don’t think he was crying wolf Lowell, he wanted to move the A’s down to San Jose, but with wimpy commisioner and the Giants crying foul, the odds were against it. Who the hell would want to play in the Coliseum? Especilally with most of baseball playing in intimate surrounding and no public money or support for a new stadium.

Wolfe and Fischer have no place to go. The Coliseum has all the leverage and should hold out for a 10 year lease with assurances that it cannot be broken under any circumstances.

I think they should move to San Jose Costa Rica, the Giants won’t mind.

“Never listen to what the powerful people say.”
Methinks that applies well past the boundaries of Sports.

Lew Wolff is despicable. The A’s belong in Oakland.
