Here is the beginning of my column on the Warriors Jarrett Jack. This column would have been better if the Warriors didn’t get stomped by the Clippers, but daily journalism is like that. I hope you still enjoy it and find value in it:

OAKLAND

Jarrett Jack had a jumbo rubber band around his ankles.

It was green and thick, and Jack ran forward and backward the other day at the Warriors’ facility, the rubber band inhibiting his movement. He ran because he’s getting over a stress fracture in his right foot and he’s trying to increase his explosiveness.

Jack isn’t one of the two most important players on the Warriors — David Lee and Stephen Curry are.

But 6-foot-3 Jack is one reason the Warriors are a team on the rise.

Lowell I was starting to wonder if the W’s had fallen completely off your radar since Nellie isn’t around to poke anymore. I kid, I kid. Sort of. But I was starting to wonder… you used to write about them a lot more, and now that they’re having this surprising year you’ve been pretty quiet. Just because of the 49er playoff run? Anyhow, good column. Jarrett Jack is a very impressive man the more we get to know of him.

I agree completely. I would also add that Mark Jackson deserves a lot of credit for the ‘team/family’ aspect Jack talked about in the article. The more I listen to Jackson the more I have come to respect him as a coach. He is showing that he knows coaching is a lot more than x’s and o’s.

Ben, I have been overwhelmed by Niners and then there were the holidays. I promise you, I am very interested in the Warriors. A few weeks ago I did a long interview with David Lee. Maybe you missed it.

The 49ers or Comcast read this blog. They actually turned up the volume when the media spoke and asked questions. Maiocco and a guy who sort of sounded like you Lowell..but might have been Grant.

I really enjoy watching the kid Draymond Green play. I hope he sticks around, I don’t expect to see him score much but I like it when the offense goes through him.
