The only question I have is whether Akers had some sort of nagging injury during the season which affected his performance. I hope a reporter follows up and interviews Akers about what happened last year.
He did. It’s been reported. He had surgery in February last year, and a recurrence during the season. As soon as this season was over he had another surgery.
Thanks for the Update htwaits.
I would not be surprised to see Akers re-ermerge in the NFL provided his surgery is successful. I feel bad he is being dumped. Zitto came back from the dead and I think Akers will too.

Being an NFL kicker can be the best job, or it can be the worst job–ever.
I think Akers has experienced both sides.
After that showing, and at his age, it’s going to be tough to find another job.
Time to hang em up.

He made about six million more than I did the last two years. Hope he’s invested well.
