I was talking to Bruce Bochy this morning. At one point he said, “My dad he had a still. I ever tell you that?”

I said I didn’t know about the still.

“Yeah,” Bochy said, “he grew up in West Virginia. His father was a coal miner, his mother had a still in the house. She’d make moonshine. He said he remembers the Feds coming in and knocking it down. They would leave and in a half hour she’d have it up and running again. That was survival back then.”
