We usually think of the 49ers in overwhelmingly positive terms. They are an excellent team and a respected franchise. They always are the biggest sports story in the Bay Area. Lately, much of the 49ers’ news has been negative. This is unusual but true. Here are some negative stories that have come up lately:
Problems with the law: Aldon Smith, Ahmad Brooks.
Problems with the mouth: Chris Culliver.
Problems with injury: Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis, not to mention Culliver and Mario Manningham.
Problems with the running back: Frank Gore.
Problems with the quarterback: Colin Kaepernick, a miserable game in Seattle.
Problems with Seattle: You know the deal.
When has this Jim-Harbaugh group of 49ers been beset by so many problems, and can a team — any team — overcome this many negatives?
