It’s an hour before Game 3 between the A’s and Tigers. Downtown Detroit is overcast, in the 60s, the sky ominous. Jarrod Parker pitches for the A’s. He is a good pitcher who has not pitched well against Detroit. On the other hand, the Tigers have not hit at all in this series, have scored no runs since Bartolo Colon gave up three in the first inning of Game 1. Miguel Cabrera looks injured, shows no power. The A’s can beat these guys and if they do it won’t even be an upset.
I have little feel for Detroit. I’ve been to all the major US cities over the years and have places I like to go in St. Louis, Seattle, New York, Chicago, etc. In Detroit I have none, mostly stay around the hotel. Don’t feel comfortable walking alone at night. Am I being over cautious?
