By now, Richard Sherman has apologized multiple times for shooting off his mouth after the NFC title game. He said you don’t make yourself big by making the other guy small. He said he spoke in passion. All that stuff. As far as I can tell — correct me if I’m wrong — he never took back what he said. That Michael Crabtree is mediocre and sorry. Which means he stands by his opinion, just doesn’t stand by how he delivered it.

It seems like a pattern with this guy going back the last few years. I think he’s a classless punk learning hard lessons. We’ll see how fast he learns.

Neal, I am not going to the Super Bowl. Would have gone if Niners made it.

Maybe next year as they say Lowell. I went to one Super Bowl back in the day. I remember my Dad growing up, he went to every Super Bowl and brought me back the teams pennants and he even went to the first Ali Frazier fight at MSG.

My guess is that he has made himself a marked man. I remember Fred the “Hammer” Williams bragging about his hammer tackle way back in the day. I think it was during a Super Bowl with Green Bay he came out with a broken arm in the first quarter. That marked the end of his hammer tackle.

I suspect that Sherman is going to need to keep his head on a swivel. I see Welker putting a pretty good hit on him early and often. I think Sherman knows it and can’t apologize fast and often enough. We will see how good Sherman truly is. He will need to use his athleticism to get out of the way.

Perhaps Richard Sherman’s post-game comment actually reflects his true feelings about Crabtree. From what I’ve read, Sherman is a stand-up, no-nonsense guy, who speaks his mind. Be that the case, he has acknowledged and regrets his misstep. That should be enough.

Kozimor said on air ” You didn’t like my fantasy interview?..Something like that to you. Since he put it out there..What was he talking about? Braden? Lynch? What??..and why was it a fantasy?
Being that he waited until you couldn’t respond..

I really don’t have a problem with Richard Sherman but he’s wrong about one thing: Crabtree is not mediocre. He is an excellent receiver, a rising star.

Its not like the guy doesn’t irk people around the league with his actions. My problem with Sherman is, that for a guy who is stanford educated, his “trash talk” is neither intelligent nor creative. Every mic-ed up video I’ve seen of him he just swears at people and yells something like “you suck” over and over again, to me thats just classless. You can talk trash to someone and still be classy about it, the whole sacking the qb and then telling him as you pull him up that “im coming for you again”, something of that nature. He just is like a nat that just irritates you beyond comprehension.

Also he is a bold faced liar. The whole slapping Jim on the butt incident, said he went up to Jim and said good game and Jim ignored him yet we have video evidence of him giving Jim a towel whip to the butt with his gloves and turning tail and running away, hard for Jim to say something back when you’re 5 yards away by the time he turns around. He’s lost in his own world and no one will ever convince him he’s not at fault.

The guy is the total opposite of a “thug.” He’s a nerd, a very athletic nerd, but one none the less. And I think some old timers have told him what he can expect for the rest of his career. In the Niners case, it will be a special play drawn up featuring Alex Boone at full speed. The ref will call it illegal block from the back. the Niners will call it gotcha, and the ambulance driver will call it damn that must hurt…

At the end..you said ” I hurt his feelings” and Kreidler laughed and asked “Did you?”.
    It was on TV.

MJ – He went to Stanford to play football not to learn to be a great speaker of the english language. Does anyone realy think he got into Stanford because of his good grades?

Sherman’s act didn’t bother me. He won. If he lost and went off? THEN I rip.

Great special on Jerry Rice on NFL Network tonight — Jerry, Joe, Steve, Jeff Garcia, plus TO, Deion, Ronnie, Seifert, Mooch, Eddie D, Carmen, even Glenn Dickey of the Chronicle all weighing in. What interesting, exciting years those were for the 49ers and us fans. No wonder we raced to the Green Sheet every morning.
