Sid Caesar died. He was a comic genius in the early days of TV. I loved Sid Caesar. Go on YouTube and watch two of his skits, “The German General,” and “This is Your Story.” God love you, Sid.

Yeah, Sid was the perfect antidote to Red Skelton…

Your Show of Shows, The Honeymooners, Amos and Andy, You Bet Your Life, Burns and Allen – these are the comedy shows I watched as a kid. Every one was brilliant, from the acting to the writing. Compare them to the absolute drivel that exists on TV today. Somehow I don’t think that we, as a society, have progressed as far as many think we have. R.I.P. Sid.

I had to really search Yahoo to find that. Not “trending” that’s for sure. And the news I caught yesterday never mentioned it.
As a child of the 60′s,hard to imagine that a star like him passing away, is just a small blurb on the net Milton Berle..Lucy, Bob Hope…just mean nothing. You are of your own time..make the most of it.

I just watched some of his skits and they are very funny. I remember him as a kid but was too young to appreciate his genius.

Time and aging is funny. I haven’t listened to the oldies rock in months. I do that. After awhile the idea of those same songs for the rest of your life is tiring. And nothing really new that grabs me.
You don’t want to let “Whole Lotta Love” make you yawn. Maybe when it gets warmer,I’ll get back in the time machine.
