Just arrived in Arizona for six days covering spring training. It’s in the low 80s and dry and tomorrow I talk to ballplayers and this is the life. I think this is spring training No. 34 for me, although I may have lost track. Grant is with me and this is his third. Who has a better ballclub, the A’s or Giants? I lean toward the A’s.

I was given a brand new A’s hat by a female admirer. I try to not wear it if I think I’m going to get sweaty. Those orange bills stain easily.
I cant handle high heat. At 80 that’s perfect. The desert or central valley are just too much for me. Give me the bay area..or Santa Barbara,San Diego. That’s my idea of California..not blazing hot PS or Modesto.
I wish the A’s the bestest…but seeing Pablo beat up Verlander and so did the rest of the Giants… Makes me wonder if the A’s can get that championship feeling. I hope.

I like the A’s chances to win 90 games and the west or wild card. The Giants are marginally better than last year good enough for 82 wins and 3rd place.

I really thought last year was the A’s year. It was right there for the taking but they came up small again. Brutal.

Hoping to be completely wrong but I sense a falloff this year.

I sent yesterday..and I get why you haven’t posted waiting for others to comment. But,man,if its JUST ME?.. Beane and Fisher and Wolff have to really see what they’ve done to fuel interest with all those years of ” we want to move” “cant win here”..media day was a miracle.
I have to wonder on the psychology of that.
