Quantcast

I have been researching a longer project for The Press Democrat for more than a week and still have some work to do. That’s why you haven’t seen many columns by me lately, in case you are wondering. I will cover Steve Kerr’s introductory presser on Tuesday. Ate at three nice places recently, Hansel Bistro on the Guerneville Road, Pane e Vino in San Francisco and the Hayes Street Grill in San Francisco. Mrs. Cohn Zohn says I need to go on a diet.

Hey Lowell, honest opinion on Hansel Bistro vs. Zazu that was there. I live a couple of miles from it & have yet to try it.

Hector, They are different. I thought Zazu was great. Have not been to new location. Zazu was a little more “rustic” in its dishes. Hansel is — what? — more trendy; more California cuisine with a touch of French. I ate at the bar. Liked the waiter very much. Liked the selection of wine by the glass. Had mussels with fries; well prepared. Very good place and I would return.

Don’t fret Lowell because medical experts recently released results from a study showing that slightly overweight people now live longer than thin people, so you are safe.

Pane e vino is good. Hayes Street Grille is good too.

I hope your longer project turns out well, and that it features the 49ers.

And, alcohol in moderation prevents cancer. I KNOW,soon Chocolate Ice cream, bacon and Pizza, will be proven to stop aging. Look at me,act and talk like I’m 24. Proof!

Interesting,ESPN is saying the NFL retired players association is suing the NFL for making addicts out of football players.
And who here on Cohnzone has said for years, theres a Pulitzer for the sportswriter who looked into that?
No surprise to me. Its not a dark side to the NFL..its the sad side. Sad,since pills are cheaper then major surgery for aging players who have rusted out joints and not all old players socked away a fortune.
Some don’t even have a medical plan I bet.

Have not been to Hansel Grill personally so thank you for the review. I like to get to the East West Cafe in Bennett Valley myself for a little something different. Sally Tomatoes in Rohnert Park is also a favorite.

And you are on a diet my friend, a good eatin’ one! Cheers!
