It may seem strange praising Steve Kerr after the Warriors dropped their first playoff game, but praising him I am. In a particular area. I wondered how he would act after the loss, after the Warriors didn’t look so hot. It’s easy to be a hero and a gentleman when things go your way. Not so easy when you get beat.

To his credit, Kerr was Kerr after the loss. No different. He was polite. He answered at length and intelligently and patiently. That takes poise and balance and shows why he’s a good coach. Of course, it’s only one loss and nothing feels dire right now. If things get dire — I’m not saying they will — who will he be? It’s a side issue to this very interesting series. And I watch with interest.
