If there is any lingering doubt as to whether the Warriors should go hard after Durant, last night removed it. Dubs win by 20 with Durant. Without Curry, the Warriors are good, but fragile – off-nights by their other starters are difficult to overcome. Barnes is useless and good luck to any team that offers him a max contract. Thankfully it won’t be the Warriors. Their bench is tremendous, but inconsistent as a unit from game to game.
While I think the Warriors will win on Sunday (can’t imagine Green, Thompson and Bogut collectively having another horrible game), if Curry doesn’t play then this mysterious lower leg injury is a lot more serious than the Warriors and Curry are letting on. I can’t blame them, but just sayin’.
“I say they Curry.”
Easy for you to say. Not so easy for Coach Kerr. The decision is his and he needs to take the longer view—how to win the series and then the championship. To do that the last thing would be for Curry to develop an even more serious injury.
I say wait for Kerr to decide.
