Just had a horrible experience with Frontier Airlines. I had no opinion about them but I do now, a bad opinion.

To ensure economical flights if the NBA Finals were to return to Cleveland I booked a roundtrip through Expedia from SFO to Cleveland later this week. Phil Barber of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat booked the same itineray. When the Warriors won Friday night, it seemed (and seems) likely we will not return to Cleveland.

Phil and I tried to cancel. Canceling the outbound segment was easy. We were on Delta and we cancelled through Expedia and that was that.

Not so with Frontier. A note on my online reservation said to call a phone number. I called. They gave me a song and dance about not sharing bookings with Expedia or something like that, although I had booked them on Expedia.

Although Expedia ALWAYS allows you to cancel within 24 hours for no fee, Frontier said they don’t participate in that. Then why are they on Expedia and how would I have known their policy when I booked? So Frontier is charging me a $99 cancellation fee and gives me 90 days to rebook with the remainder of the fare. Very cheap the way Frontier did business and sneaky too as I had no way of knowing their policy. Not a happy customer here.
