Here is the Giants starting lineup for today’s day game vs. Florida. I’ll have a few comments on the bottom.

Andres Torres CF

Emmanuel Burriss shortstop

Freddy Sanchez 2B

Aubrey Huff 1B

Cody Ross RF

Aaron Rowand LF

Miguel Tejada, 3B

Eli Whiteside C

Ryan Vogelsong SP

Clearly the Giants are hurting without Buster Posey. They couldn’t hit much when they had him. Now they are batting Freddy Sanchez third. It is a power slot and he has hit only two homers. Aubrey Huff is hitting cleanup and he has 4 home runs and is batting .220. The Giants really need their pitchers to pitch now.

Unless they make a big trade, this will kill their chances of winning this year. Buster was the single most important cog in this wheel and possibly their only irreplaceable player. Sucks as he’s a classy kid whom bravely stood his ground last night. Very sad day, but I don’t care how great the Giants staff can pitch, this lineup will not be able to get it done this year.

Huff’s problem is he’s swinging at everything like Pablo last year. With two srikes on him a pitcher would be crazy not to throw one in the dirt since Huff WILL chase it. No patience like last year.
You know-I think Huff put on weight over the off season. And if you read anything about him and Burrell, beer revolves around them in life. I get the feeling Huff spent almost no time in the offseason in batting cages and lot’s of time celebrating.
Sandoval’s return will go a long ways to making up for Buster who wasnt’ exactly tearing the cover off the ball this year.
I dont know Lowell,I don’t feel panicky at all since this team’s pitchers are all healthy-and they make up 90% of what the team accomplishes.

The good news is the rest of the division stinks…not quite the stench of the NFC west but putrid none the less…
Please forgive the crossover to PED’s but I think we can declare the Steroid Era in Baseball over…
Anybody take a look at the MLB HR numbers lately?
More balls are going out in the NCAA Softball Tournament…
