I gave Alex Smith a D-minus for his performance Saturday night vs. the Raiders. Some of you will think I’m a hard grader. Some of you will write into the Cohn Zohn and say there you go again Cohn picking on poor Alex who means well and you won’t give him a break.

Yeah, right, I guess I’m a meanie.

He led the team down the field. And sometimes he looked good. I admit that. But he never got in the end zone and he threw a momentous pick against the Raiders, who are not that hot. I have become accustomed to expecting very little from Smith. I do not share your optimism and I am not in the business of boosting his ego. He had a crummy passer rating.
