One Zohn reader wrote in and said US Airways, United and American are bottom feeder airlines. Which airline(s) do you like and not like and why?

I like Jet Blue to NY because the seating room is larger and it has a tv screen with at least 34 channels. it leaves from the Interational Building at SFO airport. You can pass the time reading and then watching a football or baseball game which helps kill an additional 3 hours. I understand that all the airlines including Jetblue are finding ways to cram more seats into the configuration and charging more if you want more legroom with certain seats.
I flew United recently to St. Louis and I was squished like a sardine in a can. People are bigger and taller yet the airlines are cramming passengers into smaller spaces. Fuel prices have a lot to do with their bottom line. I worked for United at JFK for two years once.

If I ever have to fly again it will be on Southwest. I hope to never set foot in an airport again.

I like Alaska/ Horizon because they fly from a Santa Rosa and give you free beer/wine.

It really depends on where you are going, but I wouldn’t fly America West, now part of US Airways, anywhere. I have never booked a flight with them that wasn’t late or cancelled.

    I like southwest and virgin.

    Dislike American.

If you miss a flight on southwest, you can reuse the fare with no penalty.

I strongly dislike international flights, on most airlines.

I go with Taca the Latin American airlines that flies out for the SF International terminal out of SF down to Costa Rica. The drinks are free and they the cutest English speaking as a second language Latina stewardesses :-)

US Airways blows. Never again for those nickel and dime you to death losers. Southwest and Alaska are good. No nonsense, get the job done. Alaska even usually offers wifi and a gluten free Mediterranean snack box that is reasonably tasty.
