Dennis Allen fired four assistants including offensive coordinator Greg Knapp. That’s Allen’s business. In a sense, he is making those four the fall guys for a horrible season. Maybe they were no good, but Allen wasn’t exactly brilliant in his own right. He better make significant progress next season or he’ll be the one shown the door.

Allen’s whole problem was..a rookie. You and I know Lowell, that Allen agreed to hire Knapp…because Reggie wanted him and Allen as an insecure rook, agreed with “Whatever the boss says” for HIMSELF to be hired. Dennis Allen’s goal was to get his foot in the door and say yes as often as it takes. No secure veteran coach takes a Knapp.
It must have been obvious to Allen that this Raider team wasn’t the one that put up 50 points on Dennis Allen’s Denver defense one glorious Sunday two(3?) years ago.
Yep,Allen better show a huge advancement as a leader. Instead of the Lt.in Platoon out of military school who failed in battle as men all around asked “What do we do!?”..his book like smart football isn’t making it down to the field.

Allen sacrificed his first season you might say in order to get the job. That’s a Reggie damnifacation as GM.

Looks like Dennis Allen and Coach Rev are one of the same, one says he needs to look at the film, and the other says we will go back to practice and compete and play hard. Looks like Reggie and Allen will both be gone next season.

Firing multiple assistants strikes me as a huge sign
of insecurity. Good luck with filling those spots with
better people.
Like it or not, the team regressed this year, and given
their roster, it is hard to imagine them making an Indy-like
turn around anytime soon.

Totally agree with you lowell in that Allen will be gone if team doesn’t improve. However Knapp was a terrible hire. Whether Allen hired Knapp himself or was asked to hire is irrelevant now. He was decisive in firing that clown. So lets hope he gets a coach that has an offense suitable to the talent in the team

Finally, someone else to pick on. 2013 is already shaping up to be a much better year.

I think Allen can be a good coach, but he needs some experienced and talented assistants. Knapp is a joke. Maybe, bring back Norv?
