The Grizzlies just fired coach Dave Joerger. I have no opinion on that — I don’t cover the team and have no idea what went on. But I’ll tell you this. Joerger has been in Oakland to coach playoffs against the Warriors. After his pregame media session, he comes into the media eating room and eats with us and watches other games on TV. Like a regular guy. Real good company. Unusual to say the least. I won’t miss him as a coach but I’ll sure miss him as a dining companion.
