Anyone tried Medalla Real Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 from Chile? Got it for 20 bucks. Like it.
For that region I am big into Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. Big mountain fruit. Never overly expensive, even in restaurants and drinks beautifully big. Cab-Merlot blends from that appellation can also be stunning.
BTW, this conversation is probably a terrible example of white privilege. Two white guys talking wine when we ought to be discussing the constitutional import of Colin Kaepernick’s socks.
Shane,I hope to be at Seahawks game Week 3 but have not got the go-ahead yet. Would be at Purple Sunday nite after game with Grant and his girlfriend Swasti. If you come by the wine is one me. LC
Deal! Isn’t that building an extraordinary design? Hope yo see you there!
Here in Costa Rica the Chilean wines are readily available and are usually a good buy!
Great to be able to be a part of the conversations again Lowell!!!
I like a good high quality sports whine myself.
Hope to find it here Lowell….will try it (Chile is where my father was from)….take much care Lowell….
Just found something a couple of months ago. Partly irrelevant to your own wine tip except that it’s a wine tip. Madrigal. I was walking by its tasting room in Sausalito and because I needed a bottle of something for a dinner that night, I got one there in order to eliminate more driving. Three of us decided, at dinner, it was delicious. I think its tasting room and the winery and no where else for getting it. I’m not a family member or even a wine buff but like to give credit where due.
Lowell – The way the Giants are playing since the All-Star break, you are going to need to buy by the case rather than just one bottle!!!!!
