In my previous blog I told you where to find Ira Miller. Now I’ll tell you where to find Geoff Lepper.

Geoff covered the Warriors ’05-06 through ’07-’08 and did a fabulous job. He can write. He can dig out stories. He works hard. He has great connections. He was let go before this season by a Bay Area newspaper chain, one of many great reporters let go in a bloodbath dictated by a crummy bottom line in the business ledger.

It’s a shame, but Geoff, God love him, has started his own website called 48minutes.net. Now you can read him daily and get all the Warriors and NBA buzz you crave. Today he has an interesting piece on Jeff Fried, the agent of Monta Ellis, who’s thinking about appealing Ellis’ 30-day suspension. Geoff thinks Fried doesn’t stand a chance.

I have a personal connection with Geoff, one I’m proud of. Years ago, I taught a course at Stanford’s School of Continuing Education. The course was called Sports and Literature and, Geoff, whom I didn’t know at the time, was one of my students. I gave him an “A.” I still do.
