Dusty Baker was here for three games with his contending Reds. Talk about a homecoming. I didn’t go to the first two games but Wednesday (today) was an early game so I went to his office to say hello. Michael Duca already was there. In the next few minutes, Marty Lurie and Rick Hurd came in. So we all talked and caught up with each other while Dusty ate ham and eggs at the visiting manager’s desk. Media people like him. Baseball people like him. He is a sunny generous person and I’m always happy to see him.

After a while, Robb Nen came by, a big smile on his face. Dusty asked for some alone time with his former player. We happily obliged.
