Eagles coach Andy Reid announced Michael Vick will start at QB Sunday vs. the Lions. This is being promoted as big news in football. And maybe it is.

But please do not see Vick’s start as a feel-good story — dog killer redeems self and returns to starting role and his dream comes true and America can breathe again. Please don’t do that.

Vick did a very bad thing. Vick did his time. Vick is allowed back in society. That does not mean he had a right to become an  NFL QB again. I always have debated that. I always said no.

It is a privilege to play in the NFL and, in my worldview, he gave up that privilege.

You may disagree. Fine. We politely debate points on the Zohn and I’m open to your counter argument. But I don’t believe Vick should be starting. I don’t believe he should be in the league. I don’t find anything good or feel-good about this.
