The Philadelphia Daily News, a tabloid newspaper known for outrageous headlines, just posted one calling Michael Vick “Top Dog.” The reference is to Vick’s new role as starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and to his past as dog murderer.

Some people think the News went too far. I think it’s great. Vick is accountable for his crummy past and his crummy deeds till the day he dies. The News is entitled to remind readers of who he is and the paper is entitled to needle him and even make fun of him. If Vick doesn’t like it, too bad. He’s alive and the dogs he killed are long dead.

Yahoo has a good piece about the Daily News headline and to read it click here.
