Matt Maiocco posted an important piece this morning on CSN BayArea. He explains Mike Singletary is at the mercy of new offensive coordinator Mike Johnson. If Johnson succeeds, Singletary is OK. If Johnson fails so does Singletary and his tenure is in danger.

Accordint to Matt — and I agree — Johnson, and not Singletary, is the most important coach on the staff.

Being so dependent on an assistant is never a place the head coach wants to be. Yet that’s where Singletary stands right now. This makes you wonder what he actually brings to the team if he is so dependent on an underling. If all he brings is rah rah, that will get old fast. It may already have.
