The Vikings just dumped Randy Moss. They dumped him after he made public remarks proclaiming his love for the Patriots, the team that just beat the Vikes. He also criticized the Viking coaches. None of that was politically correct and the Vikes did the right thing –take a hike, Randy.

A few years ago I had a run in with him when he was with Oakland. I’ve told the story before and won’t get into it now, except for one thing. He got testy with me and said, “Who are you?”

I told him who I am and then, because I felt like it, I said, “And who are you?”

This flipped him out. He started pointing to his chest and screaming, “Moss 18, Moss 18.”

It’s sad when an athlete thinks his number is part of his identity as a human being, part of his name. Now he’s Moss who just got 86-ed
