Cal’s Jeff Tedford had tears in his eyes when he met the media after his team got beat by Oregon on Saturday. Once, he wiped his eyes. So I assume he had been crying.

I don’t believe he was crying for himself. He’s not that kind of guy. He was crying, I think, because he wanted a win for his players and coaches and because beating the No. 1 team in the nation would have done a lot for his program. He had come close but came away with nothing.
