Cal and Stanford almost got into it before Big Game even started. I’m not sure why. After the game I spoke to Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh because I was writing on Andrew Luck. I did not talk to Jeff Tedford so my point of view may be skewed. From Harbaugh I got the idea Cal was to blame. I don’t know actually. Here is what Harbaugh said.

“It wasn’t from our guys. They played smart they played disciplined. They kept their mouths shut. I watched it all in the pregame before that coin toss. I thought our guys did a great job of keeping their poise. I really don’t like that kind of football. I’m not in favor of it. You play with your ability, you play with your heart, you play on the field. There’s no talking your way out of a football fight when you’re in it. This is a football match. There’s no way to negotiate out of that.  You’ve just got to play. Talking does nothing. That wasn’t coming from our end.”
