David White has an informative story in this morning’s Chron. With the aid of off the record interviews from people in the know he explains the 49ers come into games with a pretty good game plan but once the defense adjusts to that plan the Niners coaches don’t know how to readjust. In other words, they don’t know how to be coaches. Football is all adjust and readjust. The Niners have a game plan and stick to it even though it’s not working anymore. They don’t know how to improvise or think on the fly. We all knew this in our guts but David gives numbers and penetrating insights to lend credence to our gut feelings.
