From what I understand the NFL owners would be more agreeable to an agreement with the players and might not resort to a lockout if the players say yes to an 18 game schedule. This is a very bad proposal.

I want to remind you the league used to have a 12 game schedule which became 14 and now is 16. I think 16 is the limit. Not that the owners care. They want money. Period.

An 18 game schedule (two fewer exhibition games) would mean more players will get hurt, some seriously. The owners don’t care. They view the players as replaceable parts, not as people.

If the players play two more real games they should get paid more. But they shouldn’t play two more real games. Enough is enough.
