The reports that Jed York already has decided on Trent Baalke as GM are troubling if they are true. There is so much to be learned from talking to other candidates. There is so much to be gained by not rushing into things as he rushed into Singletary.

I fear that Jed does not have enough connections to know who to talk to. So he’s grabbed onto Baalke and is holding on for dear life, Baalke whose draft performance is not world class. It is not my job to advise Jed about possible GM candidates, but someone has to help the guy. Here are three good names. I assume Jed can get their phones numbers.

Jason Licht, director of pro personnel Patriots

Tom Tolesco, director of player personnel Colts

Ryan Grigson, director of player personnel Eagles

If these guys don’t work out, I can suggest other worthy candidates. I assume Jed can get my phone number
