Jim Tomsula was a pleasure for his one-week tenure. He won’t be head coach and I’m not advocating that. I’m just saying he was a pleasure. Before the postgame press conference he thanked the media for how we treated him the past week. He smiled and laughed. He was such a nice change from Singletary who takes himself so seriously and speaks such hot air. Listening to Tomsula it was like someone pulled open the drapes and flung open wide the windows and let the sunshine and fresh air in. Here is some Tomsula from the postgame presser.

On how he got along with his players in the game: “Nobody put me in a garbage can.”

On how Alex Smith performed (Singletary would say in his stingy way, “He did a decent job.”) “I felt great for Alex today. I thought Alex took command of it today.”

Was he still the head coach as he spoke to us? “I just finished. There’s a search.” He was laughing like mad when he said this
