I went to the movies last night with Iggy to see “The Fighter.” I love boxing movies especially good ones. This is a very good one. It’s about Micky Ward, a former welterweight champ and it’s about his troubled career. For me, the boxing must seem real in a boxing movie. In this one it does.

Plus the movie is interesting to look at and the character of Ward’s half-brother, Dicky Eklund is fascinating. Bale plays Eklund and this is the best work he’s done — Eklund is a crack addict former fighter who’s trying to get straight.

If you have nothing to do one night and want to see a flick give “The Fighter” a try.
