Hue Jackson already is in trouble with the NFL. He was involved with a company that produced a substance banned by the league. If I’m reading the articles right the league told him to sever ties with this company the day after Al Davis made him head coach. This looks very bad. I’ll link to the article below, but there’s a larger point than Jackson and what he did or didn’t do.

Davis’ last three head-coach hires have been men with ethical problems. Davis keeps calling Lane Kiffin a flat out liar, fired him for cause and won a lawsuit against him. It seems Kiffin may not have the highest standards for character.

Tom Cable seems to have hit people and Davis fired him for allegedly lying about bringing a woman to the hotel, a woman who subsequently sued Cable and the Raiders saying the coach hit her.

And now Jackson may be involved with substances he should not be involved with.

Davis made a big deal about morality at the news conference — even frowning on coaches bringing wives on road trips. But he hires his own coaches and he seems to slip on background checks and on getting people who are above board and transparent and maybe at the right moral level. It will be disastrous if Jackson perpetuates this troubling trend. To read an article about Jackson’s latest isssues click here.
